Full Message Audit Trails
Every message will have a complete lifecycle record:

- Moderation actions
- Timestamps
This creates the evidentiary trail needed for disputes and compliance.
Escalation Paths for Complex Cases
Not all content is clear-cut. With escalation queues, high-risk or ambiguous cases can be routed to more experienced moderators for review.
Policy Change Tracking
Every rule change or configuration update is logged with timestamps and attribution to the specific team member who made the change, making governance and audits easier.
Expanding in the Second Half of 2026
As teams scale, flexibility becomes more important.
We’re introducing:

Long-Term: Supporting the Moderators Themselves

Standalone Moderation SDKs
We’re introducing server-side SDKs (Node.js, Go, JavaScript) focused entirely on moderation, with no dependency on other Stream products.
Cleaner APIs for Classification
New endpoints will return clean classification results, independent of queues or policies, making it easier to plug moderation into different workflows.
Better Documentation
Moderation documentation will become a fully self-contained product experience, with:

- Clear API coverage
- Practical examples
Lower Latency Across the Pipeline
We’re optimizing performance across the stack through:
