Stream Expands Its Presence in Latin America

At a Glance
Stream, the leading provider of scalable chat, video, feeds, and moderation APIs, is deepening its investment in Latin America. The region is home to some of the fastest-growing mobile apps in the world, and companies like Globo, Mango App, Hotmart, EF Executive Language Institute, Fretebras, and TradersClubSA already rely on Stream to power messaging and video experiences for millions of users across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and beyond.
The expansion includes an office in Mexico City with a dedicated team in the region, as well as an increased presence at Latin America's biggest mobile app events.

Latin America's Digital Growth
Stream's investment in the Latin American market will accelerate the region's already growing digital economy. The region's mobile internet audience stands at 413 million people, or 64% of the population, and is expected to grow to nearly 500 million by 2030.
That growth is happening on a mobile-first, chat-first foundation. Messaging app adoption in Latin America is among the highest in the world. In Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil, more than 90% of internet users are active on WhatsApp, a level of daily chat behavior that shapes what users expect from every other app they use.
Stream aims to replicate its success with global partners like eBay, Kalshi, Bumble, Strava, and Patreon in Latin America. Three of Stream's customers in the region already show what that looks like in practice.
- Fretebras, part of the Frete.com group, connects truck drivers with shipping companies across Brazil. Drivers and operators negotiate freight directly inside Stream Chat, exchanging documents and audio messages and using in-app voice calling to close deals without leaving the platform.
- Mango, a digital wallet used across Paraguay, built peer-to-peer money transfers directly into chat. Users can send money, request payments, and pool funds together in group chats, all inside the same conversation where they are already talking.
- Globo uses Stream's comment moderation tools to manage user-generated content at scale, including heightened moderation during Brazil's election season, when comment sections carry outsized public attention.
Latin American culture is rich in social interaction, education, and sport, resulting in trending applications with millions of users. It's a perfect fit for Stream's ability to provide safe and engaging communities that are highly social in nature. We are putting more of our team, support, and roadmap behind this region as it is central to our growth story.

What This Means for Companies Building in the Region
Stream's presence in Latin America means companies get support from people who understand their market and time zone. Luigi Manrique, who leads Stream's LATAM account relationships, relocated to the newly established Mexico City office to support customers in the region's working hours. This guarantees faster support response times and fewer delays when something needs to be resolved quickly.
Regional video infrastructure, with servers in São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Querétaro, also means companies building real-time chat, video, and audio experiences ensure low latency, low jitter, and a high quality calling performance for users. This has been tested for up to 100,000 concurrent video connections with 0 API call failures or crashes and 0% packet loss. Chat infrastructure scales to 5 million concurrent connections with <40ms latency.
Stream is also increasing its presence at the largest mobile app industry events across Latin America. This gives companies in the region more direct access to Stream's team throughout the year to discuss their specific use case, product roadmap, and integration support, and it also gives Stream a closer view of what LATAM builders need next.
Every conversation I have with a company in this region comes back to the same thing. They are growing fast and they need a partner who understands their market. That is what we are building here.
