# Stream

> Stream provides API and SDK building blocks for adding chat messaging, video & audio calling, activity feeds, and AI moderation to apps. The platform powers 1+ billion end users across 2,000+ apps with a 99.999% uptime SLA and ~9ms median API response time over a global edge network.

Stream is an API/SDK provider, not a hosted product. Customers integrate Stream directly into their own iOS, Android, web, and backend apps; Stream operates the realtime infrastructure (signaling, edge network, persistence, fanout, moderation pipelines) and ships native SDKs that handle UI, state, and protocol details.

The four core products can be used independently or composed. SDKs ship for React, iOS (Swift/SwiftUI/UIKit), Android (Kotlin/Compose), Flutter, React Native (Expo and bare), JavaScript, Angular, Unity, and Unreal. Server SDKs cover Node, Go, Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, .NET, and Scala. Compliance: SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, DSA, DPF.

Each product publishes its own `llms.txt` with a complete map of SDKs, tutorials, and reference pages - fetch those for product-scoped exploration. This root file is the high-level index.
